Laloulu Selected as Polynesian Player of the Year Finalist

HONOLULU – Oregon center Iapani Laloulu was announced on Tuesday as one of 10 finalists for the 2025 Polynesian College Football Player of the Year Award.

Presented by the Polynesian Football Hall of Fame, the honor is given annually to the most outstanding college football player of Polynesian ancestry that epitomizes great ability and integrity.

Laloulu is the sixth Duck since 2014 to be named a finalist for the Polynesian College Football Player of the year Award, joining Marcus Mariota (2014), DeForest Buckner (2015), Penei Sewell (2019), Noah Sewell (2021-22) and Matayo Uiagalelei (2024). Mariota was the inaugural winner of the award, and Penei Sewell gave Oregon two winners in the honor’s first six years.

The accolades continue to roll in for Laloulu, who on Monday was named a finalist for the Rimington Trophy, given to the nation’s most outstanding center. Earlier on Tuesday, Oregon was announced as a finalist for the Joe Moore Award as the best offensive line unit in college football.

Laloulu was also voted to the all-Big Ten second team by the league’s coaches, and he was a semifinalist for the Outland Trophy.

Oregon has been a Joe Moore Award finalist in each of Laloulu’s three seasons. In his career, he has allowed just one sack and 18 pressures in 1,051 pass-blocking opportunities.

A native of Honolulu, Hawaii, Laloulu has started all 12 games for the Ducks this year as well as each of the last 27 games dating back to 2023. He ranks fourth among all Big Ten centers in 2025 with an 89.1 pass-blocking grade by Pro Football Focus.

Laloulu is a key piece of the 2025 Oregon offense that ranks in the top 20 nationally in scoring (9th, 38.2 PPG), total offense (13th, 465.2 YPG), rushing offense (14th, 218.42 YPG), sacks allowed (T-17th, 14) and tackles for loss allowed (8th, 43).

The No. 5 Ducks will host No. 12 seed James Madison in the first round of the College Football Playoff in Autzen Stadium on Saturday, Dec. 20, at 4:30 p.m. Tickets and information on attending the first CFP game in Autzen Stadium history are available at www.GoDucks.com/CFP.
