Avdija named an All-Star for first time in career
PORTLAND, Ore. (February 1, 2026) – Portland Trail Blazers forward Deni Avdija has been selected as 2026 NBA All-Star, the NBA announced today.
Avdija earns his first All-Star nod amidst a career year—accruing 25.5 points (46.7 FG%, 35.6 3FG%, 80.0 FT%), 7.2 points, 6.7 assists, 0.8 steals and 34.6 minutes per contest in 44 games (all starts) this season. In his sixth season, Avdija is one of just three players in the entire NBA averaging 25+ points, 7+ assists and 6+ rebounds per game, while he ranks top 15 in the league in total points (11th) and total assists (13th).
For the 2025-26 campaign, Avdija has recorded 21 games of 25+ points, 5+ rebounds, 5+ assists this season—third most in NBA and most by Trail Blazer since 2018-19. Avdija becomes the 17th player in franchise history to receive All-Star honors and the first since Damian Lillard earned his seventh All-Star nod in 2023.
The five starters from the Western Conference are Stephen Curry (Golden State), Luka Dončić (Los Angeles Lakers), Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (Oklahoma City), Nikola Jokić (Denver) and Victor Wembanyama (San Antonio). In addition to Avdija, the reserves from the Western Conference are Anthony Edwards (Minnesota), Jamal Murray (Denver), Chet Holmgren (Oklahoma City), Kevin Durant (Houston), Devin Booker (Phoenix) and LeBron James (Los Angeles Lakers).
There will be a new U.S. vs. World format for the 2026 NBA All-Star Game. NBC/Peacock will present the league’s annual midseason showcase on Sunday, Feb. 15 at 5 p.m. ET/2 p.m. PT at Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California, home of the LA Clippers.
In the 2026 NBA All-Star Game, two teams of U.S. players and one team of international players (known as the World team) will compete in a round-robin tournament featuring four 12-minute games. The three teams will each have a minimum of eight players.
