PORTLAND TRAIL BLAZERS SIGN ROBERT WILLIAMS III TO MULTI-YEAR CONTRACT EXTENSION

PORTLAND, Ore. (June 30, 2026) – The Portland Trail Blazers have signed center Robert Williams III to a multi-year contract extension, it was announced today by General Manager Joe Cronin. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

“Rob has proven to be one of the league’s most impactful defenders, bringing rim protection, rebounding and offensive feel and versatility to our frontcourt,” said Cronin. “His veteran presence off the court has helped establish a culture of tenacity, grit, and accountability with our young guys, and we are excited to have him continue represent Rip City.”

Williams, 28, is coming off his best season as a Trail Blazer, appearing in 59 games (1 start) while averaging 6.7 points, 7.0 rebounds, 1.0 assists, and 1.5 blocks per game throughout the 2025-26 season. The Shreveport, Louisiana native has appeared in 85 games (4 starts) during his three seasons in Portland, averaging 6.5 points, 6.7 rebounds, 1.0 assist and 1.5 blocks.

Originally acquired via trade from Boston in October 2023, Williams has tallied 294 games played (101 starts) across his eight seasons. He earned NBA All Defense Second Team honors in 2021-22 after averaging 2.2 blocks and 0.9 steals per game across 61 starts. For his career, he has averaged 7.1 points, 6.9 rebounds, 1.3 assists, and 1.6 blocks per game.
