OSU VB: Beavers Fall in Season Opener

OREM, Utah – Oregon State fell in straight sets to Utah Tech Thursday in its first match of the 2026 season.

AC Froehlich led the team with 13 kills in her Oregon State debut. Including three seasons at LSU, Thursday’s performance was her fourth career double-digit performance and came one shy of tying her career high. The Lafayette, La., native also added back-to-back aces as part of an early 4-0 run in the first set. 

Cheyenne Green also came within one kill of tying her career high, tallying nine against the Trailblazers to go with one block assist.

Alana Marrs’ first appearance of the season culminated in eight kills and three blocks, while Taray Tela, playing mere miles from her hometown of Provo, Utah, started for the first time in an Oregon State uniform and finished the match with seven kills and one block assist. Including Taylor Treahy, who had seven, there were five Oregon State student-athletes with seven or more kills against Utah Tech.

Jackie Matias’ 31 assists was a match high for either team, while Aly Cox totaled two digs and 11 assists.
