Moore A Maxwell Award Semifinalist

EUGENE, Ore. — Oregon quarterback Dante Moore was announced on Tuesday as a semifinalist for the 2025 Maxwell Award, presented each year by the Maxwell Football Club to the most outstanding player in college football.

Moore is one of 13 semifinalists for the award, which is in its 89th year. He is one of six Big Ten players to be named a semifinalist, and one of eight quarterbacks.

Oregon has now had a Maxwell Award semifinalist or better in four straight years, and Moore is the 10th Duck to be a semifinalist. The Ducks had back-to-back Maxwell Award finalists with Bo Nix (2023) and Dillon Gabriel (2024), and Marcus Mariota became the first Duck to win the honor during his Heisman Trophy season in 2014.

Moore has been terrific for the Ducks in his first year as Oregon’s starter, completing 158-of-224 passes for 1,933 yards and 19 touchdowns with just five interceptions. He ranks No. 9 nationally in completion percentage (70.5) and No. 7 in passer rating (164.72), and has thrown at least three touchdowns in five of nine games with a pair of four-TD performances.

Moore and the No. 9 Ducks (8-1, 5-1 Big Ten) will host Minnesota (6-3, 4-2 Big Ten) this Friday, Nov. 14, at 6:00 p.m. PT in Autzen Stadium (FOX).
