DENI AVDIJA NAMED WESTERN CONFERENCE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
PORTLAND, Ore. (January 5, 2026) – Portland Trail Blazers forward Deni Avdija has been named Western Conference Player of the Week for games played Monday, Dec. 29 through Sunday, Jan. 4—marking the first Player of the Week honor of his career.
Avdija helped lead Portland to a 3-1 record over the course of the week, posting averages of 26.8 points (.446 FG%, .381 3FG%), 9.8 assists and 8.5 rebounds per game. Avdija was the only player in the entire NBA to reach each of those averages or better for the week.
Avdija’s standout week included a 29-point, 11-rebound, 10-assist triple-double on his 25th birthday during Sunday’s road win over San Antonio, which marked his third triple-double this season and fifth of his career. In just his second season with the Trail Blazers, Avdija has five 25+ point triple-doubles—second in team history.
For the season, Avdija is one of just three players in the entire NBA averaging 25+ points, 7+ assists and 7+ rebounds per game, while he ranks top 20 in the league in total assists (6th), total points (7th) and total rebounds (18th).
Avdija is the 14th player in Trail Blazers history to earn a Western Conference Player of the Week honor and first to do so since Damian Lillard on Feb. 6, 2023.
