Krafft Earns Medalist Honors at The Prestige

LA QUINTA, Calif. – Aiden Krafft earned individual medalist honors at The Prestige after Thursday’s final round was cancelled due to high winds.

Krafft fired a 3-under 68 on Wednesday, leading the field by five strokes after the first two rounds of play. With the third round cancelled, the senior earned the second tournament win of his career finishing 5-under after 36 holes.

“The Prestige was a great event for us,” head coach Casey Martin said. “Aiden displayed a ton of maturity during brutal conditions yesterday. He played beautifully. The team did well playing in strong wind. We needed this confidence boost very badly and are excited to get back out there.”

The Ducks finished fourth as a team, 1-over for the tournament and six strokes behind Stanford who took home the team title.

How It Happened

Tim Chang was the first Duck on the course, with a 6:45 a.m. tee time with the rest of the lineup to follow. The team did not make it around the turn before high winds forced play to be suspended. After battling less than ideal conditions throughout the tournament, the host made the decision to cancel the play and determine scores based on the first two rounds.

Krafft went 69-68 in the first two rounds for a tournament total of 137. The 5-under first-place finish is the best result for the senior this year and second win of his career after finishing on top of the field at the Sahalee Players Championship in 2025. Krafft had five birdies in each round, finishing with second-most in the field and has recorded nine rounds under par this year.

Kyreece Romero posted his best finish of the season as well, finishing 1-over 143 after carding an even round on Wednesday. The junior finished tied for 16th, the best place of his career.

Casper Nerpin went 71-73 to finish 2-over, and Sebastian Desoisa was a stroke behind to round out Oregon’s counting scores. Tim Chang had a low first round, but finished 17-over.
