Nguyen Anh Minh Named WCC Freshman Of The Year
CORVALLIS, Ore. – Oregon State’s Nguyen Anh Minh has been named the West Coast Conference’s Freshman Men’s Golfer of the Year, it was announced on Wednesday.
Anh Minh was also named to the All-Conference Team and Rylan Johnson was named honorable mention.
Anh Minh’s selection comes as he finished second at the West Coast Conference Championships over the past weekend. He’s played 20 rounds for the Beavers in 2025-26, has finished under par in 15 and is averaging 69 strokes per, which would set the Oregon State single-season record.
The Hanoi, Vietnam, native has three top-10 finishes, including a win at the Bandon Dunes Collegiate, while placing in the top 15 in three others. His 10-under 61 in the first round of the Bandon Dunes Collegiate is tied for the best single round in Oregon State history.
Johnson, a senior, has averaged 72.42 strokes this season, competing in all 35 for the Beavers this year. He has three top-10 finishes, including a season-best No. 3 at the Bandon Dunes Collegiate. Most recently, he finished in a tie for seventh at the WCC Championships.
A native of Gilbert, Ariz., he has competed in 144 rounds all-time, which is tied for third in Oregon State history. He has a career average of 72.57, which ranks 30th.
