TRAIL BLAZERS SIGN TOUMANI CAMARA TO MULTI-YEAR CONTRACT EXTENSION
PORTLAND, Ore. (October 20, 2025) – The Portland Trail Blazers have signed forward Toumani Camara to a multi-year contract extension, it was announced today by General Manager Joe Cronin. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.
“Toumani has established himself as one of the best defenders in the NBA in just a short period of time,” said Cronin. “With defense being paramount to our identity, Toumani has been a central figure with his tenacity, versatility and competitive nature. Toumani embodies everything Rip City is about.”
A 2025 NBA All-Defensive Second Team selection, Camara, 25, became one of the the league’s premier defenders during his sophomore campaign in 2024-25, leading the entire league in offensive fouls drawn (90) and charges drawn (31) while ranking second in total defensive stops (257).
Appearing in 78 games (all starts) during the 2024-25 season, Camara also produced on the offensive end, posting 11.3 points, 5.8 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 1.5 steals and 0.6 blocks per game—all career-best averages—while shooting career-high marks of 45.8% from the field and 37.5% from 3-point range.
Also named Western Conference Defensive Player of the Month in February 2025, Camara is coming off a season in which he totaled 116 steals, 277 defensive rebounds and 50 blocks—one of only four players in the NBA to reach those marks over the course of the season and the first Trail Blazer to do so since Clifford Robinson in 1993-94.
Camara’s 116 steals finished the season ranked ninth in the NBA, while his 62 games with at least one steal were tied for fourth most.
