Ducks Add Jasper Johnson
EUGENE, Ore. – Oregon men’s basketball has signed transfer guard Jasper Johnson, it was announced Monday.
Johnson joins the Ducks after one season at Kentucky, where he appeared in 35 games as a freshman and averaged 4.9 points, 1.6 assists and 1.1 rebounds in 12.0 minutes per game. He shot 40.0 percent from the field, 34.1 percent from three-point range and 88.0 percent at the free-throw line.
Johnson scored in double figures four times, including a career-high 22 points on 6-of-10 shooting against NC Central. He recorded seven games with three or more assists and posted a team-high seven assists along with five rebounds in a win over Eastern Illinois. The Lexington, Kentucky native also contributed 12 points and four assists in a road victory at Tennessee, and knocked down three three-pointers while scoring 11 points off the bench against Ole Miss.
A five-star prospect and top-25 recruit in the 2025 class, Johnson played his final high school season with Overtime Elite, averaging 20.3 points, 5.9 rebounds and 5.8 assists per game for Real Wild Energy. He began his prep career at Woodford County High School in Kentucky, helping lead the Yellowjackets to the semifinals of the KHSAA Sweet 16 in 2023. Johnson won a gold medal with Team USA at the 2025 FIBA U19 Men’s World Cup and also earned gold at the FIBA U18 AmeriCup in Argentina.
